Stallion Auction Terms
- Donor submissions close by midnight on Sunday, January 30, 2026. Bidding will close at noon on February 1, 2026.
- The NDQHRA auctions the breeding season to the highest bidder.
- Bidding will start at $300 unless otherwise indicated by the donor.
- Winning bids must be paid in full within 15 days of the end of the auction. Payments can be made via invoice. If a winning bidder does not pay, they are banned from participating in future auctions.
- All foals conceived in 2026 by said stallion, and foaled in 2027, become eligible to be paid into the 2029 Northern Plains Futurity Race (see the payment schedule below.)
- If the stallion owner offers a return breeding, it is limited to one year. The Stallion owner or farm must approve any substitute mares.
- If the stallion dies or becomes unfit for breeding prior to covering the mare, the purchaser will receive credit at the following year’s sale. No refunds will be given.
- A bonus of $500 is paid to the stallion donor of the winning horse in the 2029 Northern Plains Futurity race.
- Daycare, shipping charges, collection fees and farm fees are between the stallion owner and mare owners. Some farm fees are paid by the NDQHRA and are noted on the listing. All other guarantees not referred to above, are between stallion owners and mare owners and buyers are encouraged to contact the breeding farms individually concerning additional fees.
- Late payments are double the missed payment, provided payment is made on or before May 1, 2029.
- If the entry is made AFTER May 15, 2029, the total amount due at the time of entry is $2515 (+membership, if not paid), which includes all payments plus a $2000 late fee.
- The host track and purse will be announced.
- All successful bids are final and all participants accept the rules and regulations before submitting their bid.
